Accounts Manager (Temporary - 12 months Maternity Cover)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave for 12 months. Join the Woodley Trials Solutions team as an Accounts Manager, where you'll oversee our Woodley Trial Solutions accounts department's day-to-day operations, guide a dedicated team of individuals, and ensure our financial processes run like clockwork.

This is an exciting temporary opportunity where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our finance department. Reporting directly to our CEO, you'll manage many aspects of accounts from accounts receivable and to US accounts payable and monthly invoice processing. Over the 12 months, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our financial processes are efficient, accurate, and continuously improved during this period. If you have the vision to lead a dynamic team while navigating complex financial processes, this role is tailor-made for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Motivate and supervise the WTS accounts team, providing training, support, and regular one-to-one feedback to ensure every task is executed.
  • Manage division Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring invoices, payments, and collections are handled efficiently.
  • Lead month-end activities, including account/study reconciliation and necessary reporting.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational stability.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports for management, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support compliance efforts and assist with internal/external audits.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and vendors, addressing queries and concerns.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives as needed.

 What We’re Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Sage 200 and QuickBooks, with strong Excel skills.
  • Experience in a similar industry (pharmaceuticals, biotech, etc.) is advantageous.
  • A self-motivated, proactive team leader with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Energetic, collaborative, and focused on delivering results.
